Stevenson PACT Volunteering Supports the School
District and the Community

Highlights for 2006-2007

Stevenson PACT Volunteer Activities Supporting the Mountain View Whisman School District and/or the Mountain View Community: Volunteer activities that help strengthen the community we live in.

  • Stevenson PACT teachers were quite active supporting district initiatives. Two teachers participated on the Science Adoption committee; one participated on the Math Committee; one served on the Continuous Improvement Team; one served on the 2009-2010 School Plan Committee; and one on the Castro School Mission Statement Committee.
  • A Stevenson PACT parent was elected to serve on the Mountain View City Council.
  • Parents and teachers participated in several committees throughout the year and spent hours and hours to support the transition of Stevenson PACT to this new host campus due to a school closure.

Highlights for 2003-2004

In the spirit of volunteerism, some Stevenson PACT parents have been able to contribute to the community at large. We’re proud to note that many Stevenson PACT parents have helped strengthen the community we live in by such activities as:

Stevenson PACT parents were instrumental with the Measure J parcel tax campaign and were part of the Mountain View Educational Foundation leadership team

Stevenson PACT teachers were quite active supporting district initiatives. Two K/1 teachers served as Math Mentors, 1 teacher served on the district’s GATE committee, 2 worked on the Report Card committee, 1 teacher worked on the School Closure Task Force, 1 worked on the Writing Committee and 2 others worked as liaisons in Science and Math.

Stevenson PACT parents participated on a number of district committees – School Board (1 person), School Closure Task Force (1 person), Curriculum Advisory Committee (1).

Stevenson PACT members were involved in “Leadership Mountain View” (LMV). This past year, 1 parent served on LMV council and 2 parents helped organize the Education Day program for the LMV class, 2004.

Stevenson PACT parents were involved in the Northeast Mountain View Advisory Council – Air Quality Meetings. One parent sat on the executive committee and several participated in their regular updates
